Terms of service
Last updated: September 8, 2026
1. Overview
Welcome to Sapfo.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Sapfo online store and website, including your purchase of products through the website.
The store is operated by Sapfo Exarchou, a sole proprietorship trading as Sapfo Leather goods, referred to in these Terms as “Sapfo”, “we”, “us” or “our”. Our online store is powered by Shopify.
By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms, together with the policies referred to in them, including our Privacy Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any rights granted to consumers under applicable mandatory consumer protection law.
2. Products and Handmade Characteristics
Sapfo products are handmade leather goods produced in small quantities or made to order.
We make every reasonable effort to describe and photograph our products accurately. However, colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen and device settings.
Leather is a natural material. Variations in grain, texture, tone, markings and other natural characteristics may occur from one piece of leather to another. Because our products are handmade, small variations between individual pieces may also occur. These characteristics are part of the nature of handmade leather goods and do not in themselves constitute a defect.
Product measurements are provided as accurately as reasonably possible, but minor variations may occur due to the handmade production process.
We may modify or discontinue products, colours, materials or other options offered through the store at any time. This does not affect orders that we have already accepted.
3. Availability and Made-to-Order Products
Some Sapfo products are available for immediate dispatch, while others are made to order. The relevant information and, where applicable, estimated production or dispatch time will be indicated on the product page or otherwise communicated before purchase.
Estimated production and dispatch times are provided in good faith. Because our products are handmade, occasional delays may occur. If a significant delay affects your order, we will contact you.
Availability displayed on the website may occasionally be affected by inventory errors or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. If we are unable to fulfil an order, we will inform you and refund any amount already paid for the unavailable product.
4. Orders
By placing an order through our website, you are making an offer to purchase the products in your order.
After placing your order, you will receive an electronic confirmation. We reserve the right not to accept an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, including where a product is unavailable, payment cannot be authorised, an obvious pricing or product-information error has occurred, or we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful activity.
If we cannot accept an order after payment has been received, any amount paid for that order will be refunded.
Please check the information provided with your order carefully, including the products selected and your delivery details.
Your rights to withdraw from a purchase, return a product or request an exchange are described in our Returns & Refunds Policy.
5. Custom and Personalized Products
Certain products may be made according to a customer's specifications or personalized at the customer's request.
Where a product qualifies as custom or personalized, different cancellation and withdrawal rules may apply, as explained in our Returns & Refunds Policy and in accordance with applicable law.
This does not affect your statutory rights where a product is faulty, damaged or otherwise does not conform to the contract.
6. Prices and Payment
All prices are displayed in the currency indicated on the website. Prices and any applicable taxes will be presented in accordance with applicable law.
Any shipping charges applicable to your order will be shown before you complete your purchase.
For deliveries outside the European Union, the recipient may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes or other charges imposed by the destination country. Where applicable, these charges are not included in the product or shipping price unless expressly stated otherwise.
Available payment methods are displayed at checkout. Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.
We may change our prices at any time. Any change will not affect an order that has already been accepted.
7. Shipping and Delivery
We ship orders to the destinations available at checkout. Shipping methods, charges and estimated delivery times are provided during the ordering process or in our shipping information.
Delivery times are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise. Delays may occasionally occur because of carriers, customs procedures, adverse conditions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
For consumer purchases, the risk of loss of or damage to the goods passes to you when you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, takes physical possession of them. Where you independently commission a carrier that was not offered by Sapfo, risk passes upon delivery of the goods to that carrier, in accordance with applicable law.
Please ensure that the delivery information supplied with your order is complete and accurate.
8. Returns, Withdrawal and Legal Guarantee of Conformity
Returns, exchanges, cancellations and the exercise of the statutory right of withdrawal are governed by our Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Consumers benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity provided by applicable consumer protection law. This legal guarantee applies independently of any commercial guarantee and cannot be excluded or restricted by these Terms.
Where goods are faulty or do not conform to the contract, consumers are entitled to the remedies provided by applicable consumer protection law.
Sapfo does not provide any additional commercial warranty or guarantee unless expressly stated for a particular product.
Nothing in these Terms or our Returns & Refunds Policy affects mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable law.
9. The Archive
Products offered through The Archive may include samples, previous designs, display pieces or products with minor cosmetic imperfections.
Where a product has a known imperfection or other relevant characteristic, this will be disclosed in the product description before purchase. A characteristic or imperfection that has been clearly disclosed before purchase will not in itself constitute a lack of conformity on that basis.
Purchasing an item from The Archive does not remove or limit any statutory rights you may have in relation to faults or lack of conformity other than the specifically disclosed characteristic.
10. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website — including the Sapfo name and branding, product designs, photographs, graphics, text, videos and other original content — belongs to Sapfo or is used with permission and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
The website and its content may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, commercially exploit or otherwise use our original content without our prior permission, except where such use is permitted by law.
Third-party trademarks and other intellectual property appearing on the website remain the property of their respective owners.
11. Acceptable Use
You may use our website only for lawful purposes.
You must not intentionally interfere with the operation or security of the website, introduce malicious software, attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website or related systems, use the website to violate the rights of another person, or use our content in violation of applicable intellectual property law.
We may restrict access to the website where reasonably necessary to protect the website, Sapfo, our customers or third parties from unlawful, fraudulent or harmful activity.
12. Third-Party Services and Links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites or use services provided by third parties, including payment, delivery or other service providers.
We are not responsible for the content or independent practices of third-party websites. Where you choose to use a third-party service, that service may also be subject to the third party's own terms and policies.
Nothing in this section excludes any responsibility that Sapfo has towards you under applicable law in connection with your purchase from us.
13. Relationship with Shopify
Sapfo Leather goods is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our Store are made directly with Sapfo Leather goods.
By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Sapfo Leather goods, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products and services.
You hereby expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Sapfo Leather goods.
14. Privacy
Our collection and processing of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Please review that policy for information about the personal data we collect, why we process it, the parties with whom it may be shared and your rights.
15. Errors and Inaccuracies
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information on our website is accurate and up to date.
Occasionally, however, the website may contain typographical errors, inaccurate information or omissions relating to product descriptions, availability, prices, promotions, shipping charges or other information.
We may correct such errors when discovered. If an error affects an order you have already placed, we will contact you where necessary and handle the order in accordance with applicable law.
16. Website Availability and Liability
We aim to keep our website available and functioning correctly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access at all times.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not responsible for losses resulting solely from temporary website interruptions, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, nor does anything in these Terms limit your mandatory rights as a consumer.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to our services, website, business practices or applicable law.
The version applicable to your purchase is the version in effect when your order is placed. Changes made later will not retrospectively alter the terms of an already concluded purchase.
The current version of these Terms will always be available on this page, together with the date of the latest update.
18. Governing Law and Consumer Rights
These Terms and purchases made through Sapfo are governed by Greek law.
If you are a consumer residing in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you under the law of your country of residence where such protections cannot legally be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms restricts any right a consumer may have to bring proceedings before a court having jurisdiction under applicable law.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will apply only to the extent permitted by law. The remaining provisions will continue to apply.
20. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, an order or your rights as a customer, please contact Sapfo through the contact form available on our Contact page.
Our business and contact information is also available on the Contact page.
